News from trif.com and Robert McKay Jones

Bostons Big Dig

This picture is all about passion. This month, maybe more than any other, we honor those that are passionate. Whether it is seen in business, art or music. This photo was taken in New Orleans on an extremely foggy morning in Woldenberg Park which runs along the Mississippi River just west of the French Quarter.
This man is so passionate about his music, he is entertaining sometimes himself alone. Passion.

We Make Our Customers More Valuable
to Their Customers

For some time, we have looked closely at what we do, but more importantly we have looked at what our customers get. How they benefit from working with us at TRI. Invariably it comes down to these three benefits: 1) We improve the communications with their customers, 2) We increase the tentacles that connect our customers with their customers and 3) We add value to the relationship between our customer and their customers.

In a nutshell, we make our customers more valuable to their customers.

We look hard to try and find different ways we can enhance the customer relationship for our customers and we work with our customers to look hard as well. Great loyalty can be created when you provide a service that impacts not only your customer, but your customer's customer.  We accomplish that through customized software designed not only with our customer in mind, but their customers in mind as well.  Over the years, the best recommendation we can receive is from our customer's customer.  Accolades from our customers are great, but when they come from our customer's customer, that is awesome!
So think about ways you can service your customer that a customized application might enhance. If you have any questions, please give us a call.

Unsubscribe

Ok, I unsubscribe from emails almost every day. I might accept mass-marketing emails for a while, but then cyclically I go on the rampage and kill everything I can.  The latest is this new fad Groupon which provides local deals not unlike those coupon booklets you receive from your kid's school as a way of earning extra money for your school.  Groupon negotiates discounts and passes the savings along to their customers.  Well, the next time I need an herbal spa treatment, I just may have a peek, but for now, I want the emails to stop.  So I go to the bottom of the email and find the word unsubscribe and click it.  Usually it goes Unsubscribe From Grouponthrough a process of selecting what you are unsubscribing from and why you are unsubscribing, but Groupon does one additional thing.  They apologize and tell you that Derrick is at fault and ask you to click the button to punish Derrick.  So of course I did.  And you can see Derrick get scolded by a superior and then assaulted.  It catches you off guard and makes you think twice about unsubscribing.

How do they do this?  They make it personal.  They make you feel as if someone was harmed as a result of your actions.  And of course, they give you the opportunity to resubscribe.

Thank You Apple!

Apple has helped us a great deal with the release of iCloud in the IOS 5.0 upgrade. Not only can you sync between iCloudiDevices like your iPhone and your iPad, but you can synch between your iDevices and Microsoft Outlook. Google Synch is no longer required. So you can synch Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, Reminders, Bookmarks, Notes and even Photos. For those not using Exchange or IMAP email services, you can even synch email.

This is HUGE. Why? Because iCloud is near instantaneous. Google Calendar Sync is a scheduled event. iCloud synch just happens.

For those of us who are PC users, iCloud runs on your PC and is always there. It is an Addin to your Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 software and you will also get an iCloud refresh button in your Outlook menu bar.

It works so well that I have ceased using Google Sync and run iCloud on my iPhone, iPad, home PC, office PC and laptop. So what used to be a painstakingly difficult process to manage properly is now immediate, breathtakingly simple and free (up to 5gb at no charge). Click on the cloud for more information.
