TRI has a video

We finally published a video which helps introduce us to you. We have been talking about doing this for a long time because we felt it was an important medium to begin using. It is short and sweet and really covers the TRI Videothings that are most important to us and why we do what we do. You can click on the picture or click here to see the video. We have embedded this video in our web site, but we have also posted it on YouTube and Vimeo.

We plan on doing more videos this year and also plan to begin using video in our blogs. It is just a different way of communicating and we are trying as many ways as we can to convey our message. This video is pretty generic and all about us. In the coming months, we hope to highlight some of the projects we are working on and how our clients get involved in and benefit from creating customized software applications.

This video was produced with the help of Ross Jones of Harvard Video Productions. It is great fun to shoot the video, but the heavy work is really in the post production. This is where experience really helps. There are so many details we would never think about were we to produce our own video. So it was very important to work with a professional. This was a great experience working with Ross.

Apple is Making your Mac look like an iPad

Later this summer, Apple will introduce OS X Mountain Lion for the MacBook and iMac personal computers. For those of you that are iPad users, you will see that Apple is Apple OS X Mountain Lionmoving your personal computer experience towards your iPad experience. Could that be because the iPad is profoundly intuitive? A developer preview was introduced on February 16th and is available now.

Like IOS for the iPad, you will be able to text iPhones from your MacBook or iMac using iMessage - just like the iPad, iPhone or iTouch. All messaging between iDevices will display the entire message stream. You can send video, text or pictures in your iMessage text.

Reminders allows you to keep track of your todo's on all your iDevices because it connects with iCloud. Just like sharing your contacts and calendar between all your iDevices, you can also share reminders. Notes for iPhone and iPad will also be available for the MacBook or iMac and is another iCloud friendly App. And just like the iPhone and iPad, the Notification Center feature of OS X Mountain Lion will allow you to manage how you receive notifications from applications and services.

Integration and sharing are the keywords we will remember from this release. Apple is looking to allow the user to share information, pictures, videos and entertainment by integrating the iTouch, iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook and Apple TV. Personal management and collaboration is better now than ever before.

HDMI, The New Standard Interface

HDMI is the latest in a long line of connector cables. HDMI stands for high definition multimedia interface. You will find Apple iPad HDMIHDMI ports on your new computers, laptops, TV's, projectors, and with this cable, you can connect your iTouch, iPhone or iPad to your wide screen TV or projector. It transmits HD video and audio giving you perfect clarity and sound.

Combine this little cable (about $40) with your iPad and your TV and there is little reason to pay for cable TV or even Tivo. You can obtain streaming video from a number of sources and applications available on your iPad and stream to your HD TV. Apps are available today for Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go, YouTube, TED, Amazon Streaming Video or iTunes. Not to mention the broadcast Apps available like CBS News, PBS, The Daily Show, CNN and more.

Create your own movies with iMovie and watch them on your TV. Link the iPad with a Roku device and it becomes the most powerful remote control you have ever owned. All-in-all, it is a handy cable to own.
