Being Open Hearted

Warren Grossman suggested that being open-hearted is a means of personal conduct that is learnable, natural, and cost-free. Here is how to open your heart: Sit or stand quietly and pat your chest so you can feel the sensations of your chest. Lay both of your hands on your chest. Close your eyes and pay attention to the sensations. When you lose track of these feelings, stop and move around a bit.  Your task is to feel the sensations of your chest. There is no correct length of time to practice--a minute or two is plenty at first. Struggling to endure will not help. Never do this unless you want to. Never do it when you are tired, angry, or frightened.

If you perform this practice several times a day, you will soon experience physical and emotional benefits. You will feel calm, quiet, and optimistic. It will become a favorite thing for you to do.

Kristin Neff wrote a book on Self Compassion (Stop beating yourself up and leave insecurity behind) and suggests that compassion should begin within yourself and then you can share it with those around you. Opening your heart is the beginning.

Technology Asset Management

For quite a while, we have dealt with keeping track of systems, software, users and security in a variety of ways.  It has plagued us because it can get really complicated.  But we needed some place to keep this information that was secure, complete, centralized and easy to navigate.  Well there wasn't one packaged software program that handled the problem so we did what we ask our clients to do.  Ask for what you need.

We sat down one day in an informal meeting and brainstormed what we need to keep track of and how all the pieces of information are inter-related.  We came up with a comprehensive asset management data structure that handles our dilemma without being overly complicated.  Basically, there are three components; assets, software and users. There are a variety of attributes for each like brand, model, memory, disk size, and more for asset.  We have brand, version, licenses, date purchased, and more for software.  And for users, we have name, email, username, password and more.

Now that we have a system, compiling the data is a reachable task.  At last.

Let us know if you need something similar.

Monitor Electric Usage

They say knowing is half the battle.  Well our electric bill has

always been a sore point.  Spending more than $4,000 a year

TED5000

on electricity has always disturbed me.  I just didn't get it.  Then I came upon this little device - the TED5000 - that connects up to your incoming power and reports your real-time usage. It comes with a little hand held remote that displays current kilowatt usage. With it, you can stroll around your home or office shutting things off or turning them on and instantly see the impact the appliance or device has on your meter.

If that wasn't enough, it includes its own little web server that provides a slick dashboard  that reports current usage, projected monthly usage and if you load utility rates, your to date charges.  All this for under $400.  I bet it will pay for itself in less than 6 months.

For more information on TED - The Energy Detective, click here .

Your Own Lightning Photos

Ever wonder how they get those great pictures of lightning?

Patience, right?  Not likely. Here is a device that connects to

Lightning

your camera and is an extremely sensitive optical flash sensor responds to lightning flashes and releases the shutter of your camera at just the right moment.   Make sure you follow the instructions and stay at least 6 miles (30 seconds away) just to be safe.

OK, so you will want to take pictures of lightning pretty badly to spend $329 for this device.  Click the picture for more information.

It is our intention that you will leave the webinar with a new vision for improving your connection with your customer, becoming an even more important partner in their business cycle.  We will be discussing communication, information and service and different ways you can impact those areas in a special and distinct way.

No special software or plug-in is required.  All you need is a computer with an Internet connection and a browser to see the presentation and a telephone to hear the presentation.

You will receive a confirming email with instructions along with the web link to see and phone number you will need to hear. You can attend from anywhere you happen to be.

180 Days FREE TRIALTry WhiteboardMobile for 180 days at no cost just by attending this webinar.  That is 90 days longer than everyone else. Simple to sign up. Upcoming Webinar

The webinar will be approximately a one hour online Webinarpresentation on using software as glue between you and your customer.  We have a number of examples of how our clients have taken advantage of customized software to create an almost permanent connection between them and their customer and we want to share some of those ideas with you.

Our goal is for you to begin to think about the way you deal with your most important customers and how a new way of servicing or a new way of communicating might make that relationship stronger.  How information provided in a special way might enhance your value in their eyes.

So the objective is creating a connection with your customer so strong that it lives on beyond a person. Software that can help make the unique connection in service, communication or information between you and your customer.

If you are interested in attending, reserve your space now because space is limited.  Click here to Register.

Whiteboard Mobile

WhiteboardMobile (whiteboard.mobi) is a new service from TRI that provides individuals, organizations, companies and other groups a very easy way to communicate important Whiteboardsnippets or headlines between those with whom you collaborate. If you want to alert the twenty people in your private group of an important new offering, put it on your whiteboard.  If you want your company to know of a temporary service breakdown so that they are better able to handle customer service, post it to your whiteboard.  Want to drive a point home?  Headline it on your whiteboard.  Need to remember an important upcoming event?  Display it on your whiteboard.

There are a thousand reasons to keep people informed and email isn't always the best way to handle it.  You could use Facebook, but then all would see.  You could use Twitter, but again all would see.  You could create your own intranet and in-house web site, but that takes time, money, know-how and maintenance.  We have come up with an easy way to handle these small but important headlines within your organization.

WhiteboardMobile provides a very easy way to post headlines to your whiteboard and an even easier way to view them.  It is available on your desktop, on your iPad, on your iPhone and even on your smartphone.  It is available anywhere in the world!  If you are interested in learning more, check out our blog.  Enhancements are already being implemented.

What is a WBit?

Picture if you will Barbara Walters at the edge of a pond calling a little frog.  Yes, it would sound like wibit, wibit.  But WBitwhat is a wibit (actually spelled WBit)?

A WBit is really an an acronym for White Board Information Ticket.  It is the snippet of news that you take the time to post on a whiteboard for all to see.  It is the intrinsic value behind the WhiteboardMobile service.

Regardless of your unique use of whiteboardmobile, it is the WBit that is important and the ease with which that WBit is posted by the author and viewed by the reader. The WBit is really what you want people to see.  The New York Times places their most important headline in the right hand side top of column.  CNN puts it in their crawl at the bottom of the screen.

You place your WBit on your whiteboard for your clan to see.  The WBit is the building block of WhiteboardMobile. Praise the WBit! Share the wBit!  Read the WBit!

Introducing WhiteboardMobile℠!!!

For years, we have been converting whiteboards to custom software applications. Why? Because whiteboards are inefficient, ineffective, limited, available only when on site, prone to unintended erasure and generally ugly. So it is our clients who have asked us to create software to eliminate the use of their whiteboard by creating something that is available at every workstation or remotely through a web site or remote access.

Our latest project WhiteboardMobile℠ provides our clients a custom Headline News whiteboard that is available to their intra-company subscribers (employees, salespeople, field workers, vendors, or even customers) which can be viewed on PC or mobile. It allows our clients to send alerts to the whiteboard simply by sending an email to msg@whiteboard.mobi with the headline as the subject and the message the body of the email. Based on the senders email address, the news headline (almost like a tweet on Twitter) will automatically appear for all company subscribers to read no matter where in the world they happen to be.
Each subscriber authorized to publish headlines will have an avatar (picture or icon) which will identify the source. You can set this web site as the default site in your browser. You can also schedule the loading of the WhiteboardMobile℠ periodically so that you can be assured your staff is reviewing it frequently. Need to let everyone know of an important visitor? Post it to WhiteboardMobile℠. Need to alert staff about an upcoming construction project? Post it to WhiteboardMobile℠.

When you (as a subscriber) login to WhiteboardMobile℠ with your security code WhiteboardMobile℠ remembers the headlines you have read and displays those that you have not at the top of the list so you know you won't miss out on important news.

For more information about WhiteboardMobile℠, send email to info@trif.com.
